Luke Mayo

July 28, 1958 ~ December 19, 2017 (age 59)

The Piano Brothers

Luke Mayo, age 59, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 following a period of declining health.  Luke was a native of Jonesborough, Tenn., a son of the late Lonnie Lewis and Gerry Lewis of Troy, Ohio, and Jacquelyn Boller, and was born on July 28, 1958.  He was the Director of Engineering with Siemens Healthcare.

An avid outdoorsman, Luke enjoyed many of the sports available to him in the mountains he called home; including squirrel hunting and fishing.  His adopted home also made it possible to indulge in other pastimes he loved such as riding his Harley, boating, and shooting sports.  He also enjoyed wood-working and classic cars.

Luke was a veteran of the U. S. Army and later served faithfully in the U. S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion.  He lived an honorable life, exemplified by the integrity with which he lived it.  He was loved very much by his family and friends and will be missed by all who came to know and love him.

Surviving, in addition to his Mom, Gerry, are his beloved wife of 34 years, Charlotte Mayo; two children, Joshua Mayo and wife Krystle of Jacksonville, FL and Sara Beth Sealey and husband Eric Thomas of Fuquay Varina; four brothers, Shannon Lewis and wife Ruth of Milton, FL, Wren Mayo and wife Marcia of West Union, Ohio, Vess Lewis and wife Jayne of West Milton, Ohio, and Jason Lewis of Troy, Ohio; his sister, Alana Adkins of Dayton, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service of remembrance and celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion.  The family will be available to receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice, or to Project Purple at www.projectpurple.org.  Westmoreland Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  An online register is available atwww.westmorelandfuneralhome.com.
