Jordan Allan Meyerriecks, age 46, of Marion, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville following a courageous battle with cancer. Jordan was born in McDowell County on April 29, 1973 to the late Earl Flynn, Sr. and Brenda Elliott Estep of Marion. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Jordan enjoyed nothing better than being outside working in his yard. He was also known to make flower beds for his family members and was always willing to do chores around the house for them. Cross-stitching was another pastime he enjoyed. His passing is sorrowful to his family but knowing he is not suffering anymore does bring comfort. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are three children, Kevin Reigle, Jasmyn Meyerriecks, and Brittany Bowers; two brothers, Chris Flynn and Jonathan Meyerriecks; a sister, Angela Nixon; and three granddaughters, Ella Mae, Brileigh, and Emerie. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Amos and Rena Flynn, and maternal grandparents, John and Beulah Elliott.
A service of remembrance will take place Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Ronnie Gentry officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
