Polly Harwood of Barnardsville, formerly of Morganton, passed away after a period of declining health at the age of 84 on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Mission Hospital Memorial Campus in Asheville. Polly was one of thirteen children, born on October 18, 1935 in Buncombe County, to the late Fred and Eve Banks Harwood. She enjoyed watching her Westerns and Soap Operas. Polly could also be found at the local Flea Markets or Yard Sales looking for a good deal. Her family will miss the love and care that she gave them with such passion. Polly is preceded in death by three sons, Perry, Ronnie and Ralphie Fulbright.
Surviving are two sons, Lloyd Fulbright (Debbie) of Winston Salem and Richard Fulbright (Donna) of Barnardsville; two sisters, Shelby Padgett (Butch) of Old Fort and Darline Harwood of Barnardsville; two brothers, Johnny Harwood and Harold Harwood (Maxine) both of Morganton; six grandchildren, Beth Parker (Josh), Frankie Fulbright (Jessica), Felicia Smith (Rickey), Paula Fulbright, Kimberly Morris (Marc) and Mason Fulbright; seven great grandchildren; a niece and best friend, Annette Webb and numerus nieces and nephew.
A funeral service will be held for the family on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Westmoreland Funeral Home Chapel. A recording of the service will be available on her obituary page following the service. Polly will be buried at Burke Memorial Park beside her son Ronnie.
